Anica Dobra: As long as there is a BOSIFEST, there is hope for this country

October 24 2017

Famous Serbian actress Anica Dobra in a interview for the website of BOSIFEST explains that she was honored to be part of the eighth Belgrade International Film Festival of Persons with Disabilities. Anica Dobra was in the jury together with Radoslav Zelenovic, the director of the European Film Festival Palic and the long-time director of the Yugoslav Cinematheque and Predrag Gago Antonijević, a celebrated Serbian director.

- Darko Ivić invited me to be in the jury, I consider it a great privilege to be part of the BOSIFEST. I'm really happy to meet him and to have the opportunity to feel his energy and enthusiasm and to get even ashamed and to be somewhere here I can learn something new - says Anica Dobra.

She admits that at the beginning she did not want to become a member of the jury because she considered that she should not be the one who will decide on the awards.

- I really did not want to be a member of the jury because I thought it was not for me to evaluate someone else's work in that professional sense, but he (Darko Ivić) insisted on being part of the team. He told me that I do not have to choose anything, but that he would be honored to be in the jury with top experts such as Rale Zelenović and Gaga Antonijević, and that in this way I can help bring public attention to the festival. Soon I realized that there was a higher goal for all this and that was something for which Darko Ivić made me aware. Then I came to this business as when I'm going to try some new piece, with enthusiasm and without fear - adds Anica Dobra.

She says that all the films that she saw as a jury member earned rewards, and that each of these achievements deserves special attention.

- I would not extract specific films because each film has an authentic story, and the nuances have decided whether some will receive a prize. If only I was wondering, every movie would be rewarded. Every film from this year's BOSIFEST deserves to be viewed and remembered.

She also said that Serbia should be proud of having a festival like BOSIFEST.

- As long as we have such festivals, I think there is hope for this country. Not only for our culture, but also for us as people, as our friends and relatives - concludes Anica Dobra.

The audience will soon be able to see Anica Dobra in the "Roots" series, which is being produced in the production of RTS, while for those who want to see her acting live, she regularly plays in the performances of Atelje 212 and Zvezdara Theater.

Grand prix at the 8th BOSIFEST won the French documentary "Arise and Walk" by Matthieu Firmin. The best director award was won by "Daniel" by Anastasia Dabrowska (Poland), and for the best scenario "Listen to Silence" by Mariam Chachia (Georgia). Special prizes were given to the films "In Another World" by Anna Bedynska (Poland), "Two Worlds" by Maciej Adamek (Poland) and Yonatan Nir and Enosh Casell's "My Brother Hero" (Israel).
